I agree with this post completely. My experience is that, especially for shared hosting, Bluehost is really a cut above others such as Hostgator (who are very guilty of overselling). In addition to the positives pointed out in this post, I like the fact that the company actually has ethics. I remember reading a post from the founder a while back (Matt Heaton) who said they refuse to host adult related content for any reason whatsoever as they find it unethical (you know how much more money Bluehost would make if they accepted adult sites?)….

Bluehost offers a free domain name for 1 year if you host with them. After that, the renewal fee is $13.99 per year. If you want to buy just a domain, that’s fine also and it costs $11.99 for the first year. Subsequent year renewal will be $13.99.
